Building Up Your Business with Cosmetic Lasers

Lately it seems like everyone is looking to have some sort of cosmetic procedure done. Some people want hair removal, some want tattoo removal, some want wrinkle reduction, and some just generally want anything that will make their skin look younger and healthier. Well, if you own a spa or cosmetics practice, you can use that to your advantage. One way to do that is by building up your business with cosmetic lasers.

Are They Expensive?

The reason why some spa or cosmetic business owners don’t bother with cosmetic lasers is that they assume that medical laser devices are expensive. But those initial cost concerns can stop them from really looking at the bigger picture.

First of all, even though a brand new cosmetic laser device can cost more than $100,000 it may still be worth the investment. Think about all of the procedures you could perform with it? If your practice is already large and well-known, it could pay for itself fairly quickly.

Second, you should also think about the fact that you can easily add medical lasers to your practice without dealing with that expense. For example, if you only want to offer such procedures once or twice a month, you could try renting a laser device for a specific day or days. Alternatively, if you really want to own your own aesthetic laser, you could just purchase a used model for far less than you would pay if you were purchasing a new one.

Are Used Cosmetic Lasers Really Worth the Investment?

The short answer to that question is yes. In most cases it makes more sense to purchase a used cosmetic laser than a new one, actually. That’s mainly due to the fact that, unlike many people think, laser technology advancements don’t occur every day, or even every few months. For the most part, if you were to compare this year’s models and models from 2, 3, or even 5 years ago, there wouldn’t be a lot of differences. So, you can still offer almost identical procedures with a slightly older laser device.

The other nice thing about purchasing used laser devices is that you obviously won’t have to tie up as much of your hard-earned money. In fact, obtaining a used medical laser is a great way to expand the procedures you can offer when you are just starting out and have very little capital to invest. But even if your business has been around for a while it might be a better idea to spend your saved money on something other than one brand new laser device, such as opening a second office or purchasing the building that your office is in. So, in either case, buying a used laser might be the way to go.

Then Why Do People Purchase Brand New Medical Laser Equipment?

You’re probably wondering what the point of purchasing a brand new laser device would be. Well, there are times when a more advanced model might be released and you might want to get in on the action quickly. Aside from that, the biggest reason to have a brand new device is basically to project a certain image to your clients. When you own the latest medical lasers, it can tell potential clients that you take your work very seriously. However, if your business is already well-established and you have regular clients that trust you, that may not be as much of a problem for you. So, you might find it more sensible to purchase a used aesthetic laser instead.
